MY FAVORITE HAIKU (January 13, 2015)
Every two or three days, I pull my mobile phone out of my pocket, go to the text messages, and open the only message in the archive file. If I am in a crowded place, I read it under my breath, but if there is no-one around me, I read it aloud:
Homo homini lupus non est. Plautus stultus erat. Lupus est animal insons. In veritate, homo homini homo est. Et nihil est peior quam homo. Hoc maxime verum est.
Although I can recite the haiku of one-hundred and sixty characters by heart, I prefer to read it aloud. For some reason, I enjoy the tongue of my ancestors even more that way. Anyhow, there is nothing worse than the human race. And I delight in reading over an over again that this is the greatest truth. When will the human race learn it?
