DIFFERENT PLANETS (July 15, 2015)
It is past midnight in Athens, but Greeks have not yet decided on the bailout, as required by Germans. How come? Greeks and Germans hail from different planets.
Addendum (July 16, 2015)
Belatedly, the Greek parliament accepted the bailout terms imposed by the European leaders led by the German chancellor and her finance minister. But the Greek government nearly disintegrated in the process. As rioting went on around the parliament building in Athens, the strife led to many a defection among the key politicians in the leading party. The day after, the question is how will the Greek government be reassembled to implement the bailout decision. But Europe has also split into two belligerent camps along the Greek-German divide. Most important, Germany and France are now at odds with each other. And Humpty-Dumpty cannot be put together ever again. Alas, Europeans all hail from different planets.
