“TECH WORLD WRITES OBITUARY FOR ADOBE FLASH” (July 20, 2015)
Thus The Wall Street Journal today. “Adobe’s Flash video software, criticized for years as a security risk and a drag on online progress, last week stepped yet closer to the grave due to a flaw that hackers were reportedly exploiting,” explains the newspaper. “Some in the tech industry say it’s time for Flash to go.” Hooray! I have been more than happy without Flash for a couple of years (“Screw Flash Player,” April 8, 2013). I did not even know it was a security risk, too. Getting rid of all the moving pictures on my visits to online newspaper was enough for me. Had I only known, I would have gotten rid of Flash many years earlier. Come to think of it, I am already leery of Flash’s replacement, which must be in the works by now. I will have to get rid of it right off the bat. Moving pictures are for the birds, anyway.
