THE ODOR OF SULPHUR (February 11, 1986)
Upon completing all the calculations, I was reassured in the correctness of my analytical findings. My joy was boundless. Almost exactly ten years after I had arrived at the correct formulation of the problem I was in possession of the solution, too. I could not suppress a cry of wonder: the symmetry and the simplicity exhibited by the mathematical representation of economic reality was perfect. The only problem that remained was to present the results in such a fashion that they would not appear a priori obvious, if not outright trivial.
