THE WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY (October 10, 2025)
According to the World Health Organization or WHO, the number of mental health problems has been growing across the globe. Also, an increasing number of adolescents suffers from mental disorders. This is why today’s date is important, for it is the World Mental Health Day. Predictably, much research has been dedicated to this problem as of late, but there is still a great confusion about the causes of its recent advance. One of the recent causes of great renown is the coronavirus pandemic (“On Lockdowns and Mental Disorders,” February 22, 2021; and “Learning by Doing,” November 17, 2022). Broader issues are avoided by researchers, though. For instance, humans are realizing in ever-larger numbers that the future is far from bright due to climate change and environmental degradation, which cannot but lead to growing conflict across the globe (“The Crown of Civilization,” July 14, 2021). Perhaps more important, humans crave certainty in a world that is increasingly uncertain (“Predicting Predictions,” October 11, 2023). Improving mental health is thus not very likely in the foreseeable future (“The Decline in Mental Health,” October 11, 2024). Whence the explosion of drug abuse, a wide variety of criminal activities, and relentless entertainment at full blast. The only thing that is certain in this connection is that today’s date will be growing in importance in the years to come. Three cheers for the World Mental Health Day!
