I M U (September 30, 2025)
I have long searched for single letters that would all by themselves spell a message to my liking in English. In the standard reading of English letters, that is. As I was on one of my regular walks today, the message came to me out of the blue: “I M U.” And I was quite stunned by it. Although it reminded me of the Latin expression reserved for graves, sum quod eris, it still led me to my Residua at a clip. “Just like you,” so to speak, “I am a human being.” For all our differences, they cannot but be negligible. Nay, trifling. “Hey, my thoughts are yours!” Of course, the three letters also have come to me as a warning to my readers: “No matter what you think of me and my writings, and no matter what you think of yourself and your readings, we are one and the same.” This is a solemn warning, to be sure. In other words, we will agree sooner or later. One way or another, we will end up on the same page. And thus I decided to record my unexpected experience with English letters in their standard reading. I am you, and no kidding. Beware, dear reader! Beware!
